Printable, Water-Soluble Fabric-Like Paper for Embroidery and Felt Projects
One package of twelve sheets
Sheets are 8 1/2 x 11 inches - the size of printer paper
This stuff is fabulous! A real game changer for so many stitchable projects.
Use this paper in your printer.
Print PDF patterns directly onto this paper.
One side is thin textured fabric-like paper that is lightly sticky.
There is a backing paper that peels off before applying the textured side to wool felt or other fabric.
Sulky (the manufacturer) calls it a 'stabilizer', but to me, that implies that you leave it on a project in order to give it body or stiffness. I prefer to call it a dissolve-able paper that aids greatly in creating neat, precise embroidery designs.
To use, just print your PDF pattern pieces onto the paper,
Loosely cut out the designs,
Peel off the backing paper,
Press the fabric-like printed paper onto wool felt***,
Stitch right through the design,
Soak in cool- to barely-warm water for a few minutes,
The fabric-like piece dissolves like magic leaving your embroidery stitches intact!
I absolutely love it for Larissa Holland's Twelve Days Ornaments patterns, and Larissa highly recommends it.
I've even used this Stick 'n Stitch paper for my own designs by drawing directly onto it.
You can also trace patterns onto the paper using a light box.
*** If using this paper on wool felt, I highly recommend soaking the wool felt FIRST
in cool- to barely-warm water for a few minutes to allow the wool to shrink just the tiniest little bit.
Squeeze excess water out of wool felt and let dry.
Apply the printed Sulky Stick 'n Stitch paper, embroider.
Soak off the adhesive paper, and no further shrinkage will occur.
